My opinion of what I've seen so far of the Suspiria remake is...[shrug]...why'd they bother?
This is what a ruthless pursuit of heaven on earth, "Utopia", leads to: Mayhem, Misery, Extinction.
I tried to stick with the supernatural, while avoiding the inclusion of zombies (unless they were supernaturally inspired), slashers (with two obvious exceptions, as you'll see), animals run amok, or anything with a hint of science fiction to it.
About halfway through this picture, I began waxing nostalgic for the suspense, characterization and atmosphere of Friday The 13th, Part II.
Darker endings seem to hang around longer. If the movie ends on goodness and light, if everything's made right again, well, then, there's not much left to think about. I've always preferred movies that achieved that, whether through darkness or ambiguity.
